Batman used that Merc in quite a few episodes. Several other notable Fords appeared in the various episodes including this one.

I happened to catch this one today, "A Hat Full Of Rain", 1957. It features numerous great views of my favourite flathead powered 52 Mercury.

Spotted a 52 Merc in this 1956 movie, "Hilda Crane." Its a four door sedan and its got fender skirts!

This old Albert Hitchcock film turned out to have some great views of a jailbar pickup and a 51 Merc woody wagon. Driving and parked. Both covered in mud at times and the woody wagon came to a sad...

Lost Lonely And Vicious (1958). Spotted a 52 and 53 Mercury in the first 2 minutes of this movie. More to come I am sure.

A 1953 movie, "It Happens Every Thursday" has a 41 Ford woody and a 52 Lincoln show up in the first ten minutes.

Latest that caught my eye was "Violent Saturday". Although it won't be a flathead, there is a nice 54 Mercury that comes to a sad ending late in the show. The Ford truck was unharmed though.

Seems most of the ads in magazines of the day showed white wall tires but yes, the extra cost might have steered more buyers to the plain black wall option. Interesting to notice in this photo that...

Yes, TCM is one of the few channels I'd never give up. Always enjoy the old autos that show up in the movies. Like this shoebox Ford from "The Day The Earth Stood Still".

I don't recall noticing at the time but apparently in the early episodes of "The Mod Squad" series from the late 1960s there was a 1950 Mercury woody wagon. They wrecked it eventually.
