Re: Gas under carbs on manifold
My hunch is also the Jets. If my float was too high or the fuel pressure too high I’m assuming it would leak out the top? It’s definitely leaking from the bottom. Both carbs though. Should I be using...

Re: Gas under carbs on manifold
Runs great. I haven’t checked the pressure yet as honestly…I don’t know how while running?! But I do have the tool. Probably time to check.

Gas under carbs on manifold
About 350 miles on my build. I’m noticing it looks like gas is leaking out of the carbs onto my manifold. Is this a float issue? New genuine stromberg 97’s. Fuel pump is a stocker rebuilt by me.

Re: Solenoid clicking. Won't start
Got a nice starter on order from cwmoss. They said they don’t have issues with them but I asked to look to see where it was made and they said there were no stickers showing country of origin. We’ll...

Re: Solenoid clicking. Won't start
I know. When I started this car I knew close to nothing about ford and because I could afford it at the time (I’m self employed so the future is always murky) I bought all the parts I’d need for the...

Re: Solenoid clicking. Won't start
Wow, it’s not that I didn’t believe the power master was a POS but I didn’t want to accept it. Just took the power master off again and failed the bench test. Put in an original 6 V unit and no...

Re: Solenoid clicking. Won't start
Marko, is that as simple as a jumper wire from + side of battery to the terminal on the starter?
I just tried a jumper wire from small post on solenoid to big post on solenoid going to the starter...

Yeah, I know about the Facebook pages. Just not trying to bombard you all with every single question that I have. I have a lot of them!
The engine turned over fine when I had to starter out. It is...

Solenoid clicking. Won't start
I have this on Facebook too but id really like to be driving this weekend so I figured I would post here.
When I hit the starter button, I get a click at the solenoid. No big deal I thought, my...

Re: Columbia two speed differentials
Does anyone sell these “turn key”? I realize it is probably pricey but something I’d rather pay for than “upgrade” the drivetrain (which probably costs just as much).

Re: Where’s my water going?
I confirmed when the heads are off that the plugs fit perfect. The electrode just barely stuck out into the chamber. These are actually what Eden rock recommends.
Pistonbroke, it’ll take way more...

Re: Where’s my water going?
I did a pressure test and it held overnight when I was having head gasket issues before I first fired up the engine. I definitely will be doing another one probably tomorrow and we’ll see.

Re: Where’s my water going?
Here’s my plugs. I thought I was running rich but I guess not. Might be running a little lean? Anyone have thoughts on these? I’ll resize when I get to my computer.

Re: Where’s my water going?
Oh Pete…the head gaskets caused me all kinds of issues when I installed them. I’ll see if I can dig up the thread. I had a ton of leakage with copper so at the end of the day, I ended up with the...

I guess I will try to be more patient and see what happens in a few hundred miles. I did have seeping head studs, but all of that has stopped. Heads have been retorqued probably 10-12 times...

Re: Where’s my water going?
Radiator is a stock (new) 40 unit.
I add about 4-6 cups of water every few drives. I do somewhat suspect thermostats so I’ll remove those too.
Any photos of those check valves installed?

The radiator cap has a 4 on it? Not sure what that means? Photo attached.

Re: Where’s my water going?
Yes, I was trying to let it find its own level until it started to get hot, like 200-210, sometimes up to 220. I have a guage on both sides to watch temps as I drive. When I fill it, it stays around...
