Nice looking block. I also have a 99 Mercury block but unlike you I have the 99A aluminum heads that came with it. Could anyone explain to me the difference between the 91A and 99A aluminum heads...

My '42 1 ton panel has 48 1/2 inches between the wheel housings and 102" in length. You should have no trouble carrying 4' x 8' sheets of plywood.

If it's any help, my '42 1 ton panel truck has a serial number of 1GY-82555. This is the number found on the transmission cover and the frame.

This same panel truck was shown in the Early V8 Times "They're Still Out There" section of September/October 2009. It has the "G" Series 6 cylinder engine. From what my (and others) research there...

The 1942 hood script is not the same as the 1939. The script is larger and approximately 1/4 inch in thickness. It mounts with two pins on the backside. They were made out of a pot...
