Re: MACS has been sold !

In a few years we will be saying "REMEMBER WHEN MAC TREATED US SO GOOD'' and then we can go back in the archives and look at all of the complaints we wrote about Macs before the buy out. The high...

Re: Gen / alt q.....

I would never install an alternator on an old Ford. If I got a dumb streak and thought an alternator was the only thing I could use to impress a technician at electrical shop I would at least buy one...

Re: Ford 8" inch in a '36?

I love the Ford banjo rearend and would never install a *' in my old Ford and I would not buy one that has been converted. I do not know your reason for this conversion. You are going to lower the...

Re: Differences between a 41 frame and a 40 frame

Karl

Thanks for the reply. Those are sure nice drawings on your website. They get a lot of use by some of my friends.

Thanks again

Re: Differences between a 41 frame and a 40 frame

Wesscot's drawings only go to 1940. The thirty five to 40 car frames are the same. The 35 to 41 have the same wheel base. I thought I heard a long time ago that the 40 and 41 were the same. The...

Differences between a 41 frame and a 40 frame

I keep thinking about Dennis Carpenters new 40 Ford coupe. Will a 41 Ford coupe frame work on a 40 coupe? I have a 41 Ford couple and somebody used it for patch panels and there is not much left of...

There is usually 500 rpm between gears.

Re: Headlight Bar

My headlight bar has always been a challenge. The stock bar was the easiest to install. Then I went with a chrome dropped headlight bar. This was a little more work. Then I installed a 32 grill. I...

Re: Converting model A backing plate to Juice brakes?

I will probably never install hydraulic brakes on my Model "A". When I was a young and stupid I thought this conversion was a must. I heard nothing but bad stuff about mechanical brakes and most of...

Re: 1934 Ford frame differences?

Local log haulers change frame rails here. I have watched two of them done by the truck owner. They do it with the body, transmission and engine in place. They unbolt everything from the rails and...

Re: Open Model A Engine and Transmission

That is cool. Thanks for posting. I have seen a lot of cut away engines but never saw one that ran.

Re: Float a motor vs. stock mounts

I pretty sure you can buy a new cross member. I have seen them in some catalog. They were cheap.

Re: What are the 1933 BB Panel Trucks worth?

"AA" truck cabs and "A" truck cabs are the same cab. I think this is true on the newer trucks too. They take more room to store and this makes them less desirable.

Re: New 40 coupe

I just went to Dennis Carpenter's website. The price is less without the doors. I can still see about a $45,000 build with primer and no hood or grill. I would go this route if I had a parts car and...

Re: Can the alternator run the car by itself?

Thanks tbird tbird. I was on a sewage treatment project a few years ago. They used the explosion proof conduit that you mentioned. No cable trays on that job.

Re: My day just got ruined....

I would offer you some sympathy but I have no clue what an "o/d trans". Is it some kind of road trip? Like over/dare(There)? I think I understand now. You are installing an overdrive transmission. I...

Re: New 40 coupe

Ron

I agree with you. There use to be one that was red and cruised through McDonalds when I was a small child. I loved that pickup. Some of the older hot rod people remember the truck. The owner...

Re: New 40 coupe

That does not seem like a bad price considering the cost of a 32 three window coupe. Now old frames are going to go up in price. I like the 40 standard and 39 deluxe better but i would settle for a...

Re: 1936 Ford Grille Questions

My opinion is the originals did not fit that great. I have heard about 36 grills not fitting for years. It is like the 49 to 55 Chevy pickups. They were thrown together and had wide and narrow gaps...

You should go to Gillette, Wyoming. They have a great diesel technical school.
I think it is funny to watch those young kids with their smoke bellowing pickups.

They are no different than hot...

Re: Can the alternator run the car by itself?

Thanks

I have been thinking about adding a amp gauge on each circuit and of course they would be redundant too. I may now have to go with a four door body style to accommodate a co-pilot. He will...

Re: 1939 ford radio

Thanks for the reply about the mounting. Where does the speaker mount or is it in the radio?
