Re: Running too warm

41ford1, this was one of my first thoughts. I recently installed a newly rebuilt distributor and it was set just a tad different than when I sent it down. I did just a slight advance thinking that...

Re: Running too warm

Re: Running too warm

Re: Running too warm

OK, going down the list here, there are no thermostats in this engine. After a 6 mile run it is pretty warm when I return home but I usually don't check to see how hot it really is. There is only a...

Re: Running too warm

Hard not to get excited when you see steam pouring out and coolant spewing on the ground after idle in my yard. Only happened one time and I let it cool down naturally before adding antifreeze and...

Running too warm

I know this issue has been talked about almost to death on here but I am disturbed by how warm my car is getting recently. I stuck a meat thermometer in the flow and saw over 200 and feel that is way...

Re: What does a 35-40 frame weigh?

I'll tell you they are pretty darned heavy when your walking backwards helping a fellow with one and you trip on a rock and the rear cross member comes down on your legs !

Re: WWII era

If you had heard the engine and several trips to the hanger with the "51" while up here once, you certainly would question your sanity about going up for a ride even if they gave you the $2200 bucks...

Re: WWII era

Sidevalve, beautiful aren't they ? They belong to the Collins foundation from Mass. I believe and fly into Laconia, N.H. every so many years. Ocasionally some one has $300 or so and gets a ride...

Re: Walt Duponts shop

So very happy for you and your wife John. Much better outcome than my wife who passed on in 1998 with the same issue. Most folks with that dreaded sickness are not so lucky. Glad she escaped the...

Re: 1935 Floor Mats

More than likely, Dennis C. is producing the mats that most others are selling.
I recently bought a new mat for the forty from Jo's in Uxbridge and it is from Dennis. I guess the V8 club asked him...

Re: Where to start ?

Just regular "Junk" gas with no additives as long as I've owned it. I have a newly rebuilt "Bubbas" dist. in the trunk but did not want to go to the bother of changing it yet if not needed. Seemed to...

Where to start ?

Went to a show a short ways from home on Thursday evening, (about four or five miles) and while on the way back home developed a skip from time to time. Drove about three or four miles this AM and it...
