Re: crimping wiring bullitt male terminals?

I want to thank everyone for their responses. Marts tool idea is good , but I would probably solder them anyway. I was thinking solder in the first place, but figured I should ask, just in case there...

crimping wiring bullitt male terminals?

I have to add some wiring connectors to the harness that runs to the taillights. the 'bullit" on the tail light look like they have been crimped. Is there a tool to do this?

Taillight harness location

I can't remember, but I thought the wire loom to the taillights on my 40 ran inside the body on the drivers side floor under the sill plate to the rear of the car. If that's true, where did the...

Re: looking for ideas

You can use the front parking lights for turn lights by disconnecting them from the parking/taillight circuit and substituting the wire from the turn light switch to the front. You won't have front...

Re: Newport Engineering wiper review

Thanks for the nice presentation. I don't have a 35/36, but I appreciate the info. BTW, I bought a Newport Eng. wiper for my 40 and it fits nice, although with the cowl vent, things are pretty close.

Re: R.I.P manual trans

Not to be political, but the manual trans is a victim of the general engineering practice of relieving the operator of a vehicle of the responsibility of operating the vehicle. Neutral safety switch,...

Re: welders?

I've been using a magnifying lens inside the helmet for at least 15 years and I wear trifocals. Low amperage tig is still difficult to see. You need a lot of external light on the work; just no...

Re: I can't pull vent window tight- '40 ford

TJ has a good plan, but if you have it assembled, you can loosen and readjust the lever assy where it bolts to the inside of the firewall. Also there are verticle slots where the cowl vent bolts to...

Re: Rear Spring

If you like the idea of slider buttons, I drilled my spring leaves and installed slider buttons from Chassis Eng. Run the drill < 500 rpm and use cutting oil. Rigid works as well as any for this.

Re: Rear Spring

I painted mine with Miracle Paint from Bill Hirsch. POR 15 would work as well I think. I am not familiar with Teflon paint, but I think I would use it over the Miracle Paint. Your spring looks to be...

Re: 40 ford brake help with mustang mas. cyl.

Eastwood ( and others probably ) sells pliers made so you can bend close to the IFF nut after it is flared. Some pix would help to see your particular problem.

Re: Columbia for 39 Merc

I should explain a little, the 46 Columbia was buried in mud and overgrown with weeds on the driver side. I cut that bell up to get the rear apart and save the Columbia parts. The rears I have to...

Re: 4 way flasher

The flasher either flashes or it doesn't; the problem is in the crossover network in the switch-- probably. I assume you have the original column with an aftermarket clamp on switch assembly. If this...

Re: Columbia for 39 Merc

I am rebuilding a Columbia from a 46-48 Ford to fit in my 40. All the changes happen on the right (passenger) side housing (bell) . The Columbia housing needs to be shortened 3/4" and the outer end...

Re: Does lack of an 800 Telephone number deter ordering from parts houses?

No need for the 800 #, I also use the cell. However, I prefer the land line for passing CC info.
