Good news! It was getting down to just a few posts a day but needs to live.

Re: Greasing Teflon Tie Rod/Drag Link Ball Seats

They don't need grease, that's the whole idea.

Re: What method or chemical used to bring out frame/body numbers?

I've had some success with rubbing the number with a soapstone, then wipe it clean. The white soapstone will stay down in the stamped numbers.

Re: Who makes a 12v starter for the A

You can but it's very risky. I've had two six volt batteries explode over the years while jump starting with 12 volts in an emergency. It seems to happen more when it's very cold, possibly the 6...

Polishing stainless parts.

I have a couple of 30-31 headlight buckets and grill shells that need to be polished up. The headlights especially have quite a bit of water staining (how can that be on stainless steel, lol). What...

Re: Not a ford would you save it

When a Ford grill is used with one of those coupe bodies on a hot rod and placed on a Ford chassis, they look so much like a 32 5 window that 90% of people are fooled. They make a great looking car....

Re: Briggs Body vs. Ford Body

If you're asking how the cabriolet body compares to the Ford built bodies like the coupe, there is one big difference and that is that the cabriolet was all framed up with wood, which can make one a...

Re: Evapo-rust

Has anybody tried it inside a gas tank? Sounds like the perfect thing for a gas tank that is a bit rusty, or is it impossible to clean out the loosened rust?

Re: Road draft tube connected to exhaust

Drag racers get away with it because they only run 1/4 mile, I've seen it tried on street driven cars and it sucks all the oil right out of the engine. A friend tried it on a small block chevy and...

Re: Rotary "00" Grease

Just for information, the most common use years ago for the 00 Lithium grease was in the track rollers of crawler tractors. That's what it was developed for.

HECO Shocks?

I have one Heco shock. It really seems like a nice operating shock absorber. Were they aftermarket or stock on some Fords? Or are they non-Ford? Any info appreciated. I'd sure like to find 3...

Re: Model A Roadster??

Even though it looks fairly decent compared to alot of the weird speedsters you see, I don't think it's worth a whole lot more than a running chassis. Looks like the body is wood, if so I wouldn't...

Re: Speedsters

In my real life, lol, I operate heavy equipment. I have some older equipment with no rollover protection, and some later machines with rollover protection. The rule of thumb is, on machines with no...

Re: Vapor Lock

I would be willing to bet that the crappy gas we get now probably boils at 150 degrees or even less if it's wintertime formulation. The thing you need to understand is that your modern car uses a...

Re: Vapor lock during parades

A coil will not fix vapor lock, that's wishful thinking. The problem is today's gas and it gets worse every year. The vapor pressure of fuel nowadays is matched to fuel injection systems and the...

Re: Is this the only one left of its kind?

Wouldn't a body which had been produced for a 27 T chassis bolt right on an early A? Could be it was a leftover 27 body and they just used up the ones they had left.

Re: Oil Bath Air cleaner

Actually, oil bath air filters are a very poor filter. You might get by with them on cars driven on modern roads, but I can tell you from a lifetime of farming and running heavy equipment that in...

Re: What's the deal with Hank's 'time studies?'

The reason they were developed was to allow shops to estimate repairs and also as a way to pay the mechanics. Later they were called flat rate manuals and mechanics were paid by the flat rate rather...

Re: Wher are all these N O S Hoses coming from?

There is absolutely no way to know the date a hose was manufactured, and they have been reproducing script hoses for 40 years.

Re: Wher are all these N O S Hoses coming from?

NOS from where? I can almost guarantee you that there aren't any orginal Ford radiator hoses from 1928-31 that are still usable. Are people calling old stock from the 60's and 70's NOS? ...
