Re: Anyone else had this issue

You could probably pull that stud out a few turns from the block, less you didn't flip it the wrong way... as the adjacent seems fine. Best of luck!

Re: Anyone else had this issue

Usually they send short studs for 24 stud motors with aluminum heads. I don't think i would be out of line to say venders don't have any idea what they are selling today. Certainly when it's...

Re: 1939 pickup engine oil filter

Ya it makes sense. I respect the idea of using a early filter. But it's really not practical or really period correct. If you want period correct don't run one and change your oil. Worked for many...

Re: dirty oil. Why so quick

Blow by would be my guess. Change the oil sometimes. It'll get dirty. Drive it if pressure is good or above 0. It's not going to be clean forever. maybe put a filter on it if worried.

Not sure...

Re: Changing of the Guard. A new breed of car nuts.

Things can change but there will always be a few that don't. Hell there is a model T club here. Ya think they care about upgrades.

Re: Changing of the Guard. A new breed of car nuts.

Long time listener, first time caller... I'm glad things haven't changed here much. There is certainly a small selection of people that are interesting in doing it right or what we do. But they are...

Re: Amos sold

I remember pulling an engine with you and your son for maintenance on that truck. Probably one of the nicest 34 pickups out there. Someone just received a very nice truck that was very cared for.

Re: What can happen when you think you've seen it all

Lot to unpack. a 4 speed that fused, i guess. A new 3 speed going in.

Trucks usually had a stump puller 4 and 4:11. If you are putting in a 3 speed and maybe later a 3:78 or 3:54 rear it would...

Re: 59 block questions

Motors were never stamped with vin on the deck. ya maybe someone stamped them. Not hard to get stamps. Most dealers had them.

Re: Ford car parts

.[/QUOTE]

Great answer... I can weld a Mercedes, rolls, or s10 to a 41 ford. Both might be free to me but doesn't mean when I'm done it's worth anything. Fun yes. and sometime worth it too
