Re: Roller Cam in 351 Windsor

So if I'm hearing you correctly, I could put roller lifters on a new flat tappet cam? I have a re-man 351, I'd like to go the roller route, but I have a brand new cam already purchased, Thanks, Mark

Re: 57 Ford Electric Wipers

I put my wiper arms on, and promptly ran them down into the cowl. You must run the motor and park them before installing the arms, Mark

Re: Vibration 57 customline

My ranchero had a wicked vibration from 53 to 68 mph, I felt it in the seat not the steering wheel. Now I put brakes and seals on when I went over this car a few years ago, so I kick myself for not...

Re: Help selecting a carburetor for stock 292 y block

I got a 600 holley for $0, we rebuilt it for about $40 and made it work on the 292. But a 500 or so would be a wiser choice. Mark

Re: 1957 Ford frame

The rancheros were built on a wagon platform, the difference is in the crossmember over the rear end. This could be altered. I have two ranchero frames, a solid Vegas car and an Indiana frame, Mark

Re: Any interest in value

You don't see many up here in the rust belt, a solid one would have lots of interest. How much $$$$ is debatable

Re: 1957 ford fairlane 500 stance

My ranchero has 7 leafs in the rear, might be to much rake. Granada or torino spindles will drop the front a couple inches. Aerostar fornt coils will give you the 3 inches, they say its a better ride...

Re: New guy, 57 Country Sedan

The car looks like its mostly all there, as far as trim is concerned. Price would depend on the bottom of that car, many rust prone areas to be concerned with. Floor boards, roof and windshield...

Re: 59 Galaxie 500

Not sure how long the y-blocks had solid lifters, but the 292 in my 58 has solid lifters. Could be they need an adjustment after 30 years. These engines had oiling issues, you might have some old oil...

Re: Rudeness

I was guilty of not responding to a picture request, but the stuff being sold was supposed to be in such great shape, I was simply floored to see pitted up junk with a big price tag, Mark

Re: 1957 ranchero

A small percentage of the ranchero upper bed rail corners are stainless, they do exist. The story goes that it was hard to stamp them, so many were produced with steel, then plated. I had two plated...
