Re: Generator question 27 T
Hard to tell by the picture but that extra wire is typically a field wire that you would take to ground, i.e tie it to cutout mounting screw.

Re: dangers of an 8 volt
In my Alternator/Generator shop I have been asked about 8V for 38 years. My answer is why? It made it this long without 8V.
It becomes very problematic on 2 and 3 unit regulators where the voltage...

Re: Starter with bent shaft
With respect to the owner I would have reservations working on his car. A lot of variables so to the questions it apparently did bend the shaft. It sounds like it will happen again.

Re: Weaver Auto Ambulance… Color?
Arcade Toys made a toy one (auto Ambulance) for their tow truck line back in the twenties. Very hard to find.
The weaver crane was also made and a bit more common.

Re: Solenoid on a Model A
If you're gonna do this I would use a Ford tractor solenoid. Your push button is supplied current to the button. The other side of your button is tied to ground.
One of the large post on the...

Re: How fast in 2nd gear?
Those are my shift points as they feel natural, Rarely take second beyond 20MPH, those dang little 19" wheels.

Re: Cheap fixes, ETC
I used dental floss to sew my brown carpet back together where my heel wore thru it.
Dental floss is white, carpet is brown. I flossed the dog's teeth first. Perfect match.

Re: Battery Tenders?
I use 'em and put battery oil in the battery and not because I use a tender.
I use the little Black & Decker tender (6/12V) with the battery plug hard wired into the starter.

Re: 6 volt LED or HID headlight bulbs
Given that I do very little night driving I use standard bulbs and Brattons reflectors.

Re: 14 speedster wiring question
Most coils are 9V. My T has a distributor and I run 6v.
If you have a 24 motor I would put a starter on it.
Now to be honest my car is 6V but I do run a small 12V battery stop and tail lights. ...
