We have a local jobber that has done the same with UTech, the PPG rep has threatened to pull their distributorship. I have never understood why a jobber would do this, most just don't understand....

For chip reduction, on a single stage add flex additive.
On a BC/CC activate the base and use a flex in clear.
CHECK WITH THE PAINT MFG. TO BE SURE THIS IS ACCEPTABLE!
PPG has told me it is OK...

I am a PPG user but have also used some UTech products. I would never advise mixing two different brands of product on the same car. Once you get to the stage of needing primer, stick with that brand...

Not all powdercoating is equal, use the one that doesn't sandblast off.

That's the way I have done it in 25+ years in the body shop.

Pulling the tape back 180 degrees on itself instead of pulling it 90 degrees to the surface also helps reduce peeling paint.

I've put 302 Ford bearings in at least a dozen times while the engine is still in the car, even a few Chevy 350's. Really not that bad of job when you know the tricks.

My Dad and uncle have talked about my grandfather grinding cranks in the car. He did it back when they were everyday driver cars.
They do not know where the equipment went, he musta got rid of it...

DPX170 or 1791 is not intended to be left uncovered and it is not intended to be topcoated with DP. It also cannot be directly topcoated with color, basecoat or single stage.
