Re: dual exhaust manifold?
My '36 coupe runs an 8BA with cast iron truck manifolds. Not as "pretty" as headers but everything clears nicely.

Re: Adding Power Steering to a 49 Merc V8
What did that electric pump come off of ?
Bill, the pump was a brand new european made "universal" unit. I purchased it from Ultimate Power Steering (ultimatepowersteering.com.au) who adjusted it...

Re: Adding Power Steering to a 49 Merc V8
I hope these pictures load!! The 1st shows the remote reservoir mounted on the firewall. The 2nd shows the electric pump behind the front wheel. The next step is to make a basic splash guard. The...

Re: Adding Power Steering to a 49 Merc V8

Re: Adding Power Steering to a 49 Merc V8
One way (if you have stock steering column & box) is to fit an electric power steering unit between the column mount and the floor. These units "power" the inner steering shaft and can be set-up to...

Re: help identifying this little part
It's the dash end of a typical choke or heater control cable as found in most older English cars. It should have an "outer cable" coming from the small end, and beneath the spring steel clip there...

Re: '35, need electric fan help
I may as well add my 2c worth. I'm running an 8BA in my '36. Radiator has original top & bottom tanks but a 5-row core. No fan on the engine, 160 deg thermostats with an extra 1/8 inch bleed hole....

Re: 36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
I've got hinge pin mirrors on both sides & have no trouble seeing out of them both. About a year ago I put a convex head on the passenger side & really like it. Both mirrors have a gently curved arm...

Re: Need advice on a 4-barrel carb
I've been running an Edelbrock 500 on a basically stock 8BA for a couple of years & love it. Set it up using an exhaust gas analyser but basically drive on the primaries so not too thirsty!! Manual...

Driving my '36 daily helps me to "de-stress" after a busy days work. As others have said, why would you drive anything else?? Rather than listen to the radio or a CD, I just wind down the window &...

Re: 36 5W Coupe Steering box Slop
Before you get too involved make sure that the nut securing the pitman arm to the sector shaft is tight. Mine was bottoming out on the step at the base of the sector splines, so whilst the nut was...
