Re: Were T's black only?
Not exactly sure about this, but I believe that T owners could chose different colored wire wheels ('26) that were painted by the dealerships and not the factory. Factory issue was black early in '26...

Re: New member with "new" 1922 Model T
I would suggest that you try to purchase Bruce McCalley's book "Model T Ford" The car that changed the world. Also available thru the Model T Ford Club of America I believe. This book is fantastic....

Re: 1927T roadster project
Pictures are worth a thousand words. If the car is in restorable condition, with no bullet holes, rust out, or damaged beyond repair items, price might surprise you. I am sure that you would get...

Re: Tire question
I only had one T with non demountable rims and that was 40 years ago. I remember putting new tires on just once and the best advice I got was to park the car in the sunlight to warm the tires and use...

Re: difference in years
Try to purchase the book "Model T Ford" The car that changed the world, by Bruce W. McCalley. All years are covered in great detail. It has helped me over the years to verify some questionable items...

Re: 1926-27 T coupe sheet metal locations?
Just went through my '26 coupe and could not find a match. At first I thought they might be window channels on the door, but they are u-shaped without holes. Kind of agree that they are not coupe...

Re: Parts found at an old mine, are they Model T?
The box you are asking about is the keyed ignition switch and the opening next to it was where the large ammeter was installed. This box was used on T trucks back in the day.
Nice photos by the way

Re: Sad day
Sold my restored '29 A 2-dr Sedan a couple of years ago to a young man (early 20's) from rural MN.. He saw my ad on craigslist and he asked a ton of questions. He wanted it in the worst way, and I...

Re: Cowl Width Dimension on Tudor or Coupe
Your photo is a little confusing. Where your arrows are located appears to be above the lowest part of the firewall. The sides are tapered in on that location. At the very bottom, the dimension on my...

Re: UHaul open car hauler for a Model T?
I have hauled many T's over the years with open trailers with no problems. Anything that is loose should be removed or wrapped. Now I wrap the entire car with 3 ft wide cling wrap material and cover...

Whatever happened to just calling it "engine number" and "chassis number"? Before the chassis number was stamped onto the frame (1925 I believe), just the engine number was used to register your...

Re: What to do with this old '27 T?
Can't tell from the pics, but looks like a good start for a long project. I have a similar '26/27 coupe project and they are fun to work on. Do you have the right wheels? Can't tell what the axels...

Re: Spindels
Why do you want Model A rims instead of T rims? Both are available either new or used. A's have a 5-1/2" bolt circle and T's have a 5" bolt circle. My '27 has the late T style rims but all 5 rims use...

Re: Model T year id
Sometimes the serial number can be brought back by using a liquid dye penetrant used by piping contractors to detect cracks in piping systems. The slightest indentation will show up.
Just a thought.

Re: 1926-1927 closed car drip rails..
'26/'27 closed cars are coupes and sedans (2 and 4 dr.), where exactly are these drip rails?
I might be thinking of something in the roof area or possibly in a coupe trunk.
Thanks

Re: 26/27 Model T rear fenders.
Condition is everything. '26/'27 Coupe/Roadster rears are quite desirable and could be worth posting here, MTFCA site, and e-$$$. Check out gunman63 on e-bay, Mike sells '26/'27 parts all the time....
