Re: Key door lock will not lock

The little fork that ties the lock cylinder to the latch assembly can be installed 180 out and feel OK. Or the fork may not be inserted properly. It will not unlock the door. Getting it in is a...

Re: Trans cooler lines 67 Galaxie

I have to wounder, if having the external cooler in the "hot" line is bad why is every external cooler from the factory installed like that! Yes, the radiator cools and heats, probably more...

Re: 59 352/4 carb

Short/long story about tri-powers. 73 F100, 360/granny 4/3.55 gave a good solid 12MPG under any driving condition. Put a Galaxie tri-power and headers on the engine, jetted the carbs down a bunch...

Re: valve cover gasket "glue"

When I was racing my Boss 302 the valve cover gaskets were rubber/cork. A small amount of Permatex was applied to the head surface, the gasket positioned, a light coat of white grease applied to the...

Re: Ignition switch rekey

The right hand door lock cylinder has the key code stamped on it. It should be the same for the ignition cylinder unless it was changed out in it's previous life.

Re: 56 f100

That rear sump pan is what did it. The SBC fit in just about everything as a bolt in. Ford's front sump on everything required chassis mods and other stuff to fit. Add to that the ever changing...

Re: '60 Edsel Convertible Fakes

I found the build sheet for my 58 Pacer tucked in the dashboard next to the driver's door knee knocker. It was folded up and tucked in just under the garnish molding. Not sure how or when, it did...

Re: BRAKE THEORY 001 - H.A.M.Bone

Yes, that is correct. He used a "regular" Corvette master with a modified top, aluminum with fittings for the lines to the remotes. Look inside a regular master and watch the cylinder when pushing...

Re: BRAKE THEORY 001 - H.A.M.Bone

That is correct. If you look down the reservoir you can see the piston opening to the bore. Push the piston in and it closes the reservoir from the piston and compresses the fluid to operate the...

Re: BRAKE THEORY 001 - H.A.M.Bone

A Good friend whom I was assisting with his build mounted the master on the frame rail. Disc/disc setup. His reservoirs were on the fire wall. Convincing him that residuals were not required...

My most fun is going in for parks for the street rod. Of course the first questions what year? 1936. What make? Chevrolet. What engine? 351C............and it stops there!

The guys and girls...

Re: Finally found ... Long lost brother!

No, stationed south of the Mason-Dixon line for 29 years. No winter clothes, taxes too high in WI compared to AL , don't care for snow (shoveled too much as a kid!), kids in VA, TX and CO and then...

Re: Remember when

Agreed, my 36 build started in 76 and drove first in 80 was 100% junk yard parts. Even today the only "after market" parts are the front disc brakes and the steering wheel. Every part and piece in...

Re: 390 no spark issue

I had a very close experience with the 351C in my Ranchero. Started, ran, did the cam break-in, let it cool, started again for another twenty minute run, shut it off and it didn't hit a lick again. ...

Re: 57 wagon floor pan removal

Re: 57 wagon floor pan removal

I do not think so. There are two body mounts it is welded (spot) to and the very front where the toe board goes up is welded there as well. The floor pan is under the toe board. I have found the...

Re: 55 Ford Ranch Wagon is Overheating.

Did it lose water? I ask because my Ranchero runs at 200 on the gauge. 351C, three row aluminum radiator, 50/50 mix and a 12lb cap. I was worried about it being too hot. Decided to test the...
