Re: Speaking of "Leg Room"

Some room in pickup is obtained by replacing back springs with foam. Two inches back you sit lower also. You do sit a little more vertical.

Re: Colony Cargo Trailers

I've hauled different cars on different trailers with different tow vehicles for many years. My first caution is weight distribution. Ten percent of the total weight of trailer and car goes on the...

Re: Shifting transmission

My pickup got so that going into second on occasion was like hitting a solid wall. New forks, shafts, etc, fixed it. Could try a good tower from another car.

Re: Announcing the 2017 MARC Membership Meet!!!! Save the Date!

A super area for touring, so I'm wondering what the weather would likely be like in March, or is this a drive your modern car indoor meeting?

Re: How I Spent My Winter, 1929 Tudor Barn Find

I'm saddened you changed the appearance. A friend has a '29 like you found. It draws far more attention at shows than the restored cars do.

Re: Micthell OD shifter help needed

I would think it would be pretty difficult to split shift with a cable. (For hilly country)

Re: Model B Carb. on a Model A - pros & cons ?

I'm intending to change from A to B carb and manifold. I have two B manifolds, one with vacuum port at the rear and the other a large one at the front. Who knows why?

My favorite for many years is C 16 C Champion. I don't know if they are still available.

Tire wear

In 65 years of driving Model As I've never bought a full set of new tires. Can someone tell me the wear sequence: which corner wears out first and which last? I've bought a full set of used ones and...

Re: Model T Related

I can't think of anyone else who carried a 1908 design for 20 years. They served a purpose. If not for the T, where would the average family have been?

Re: What make is this Town Car?

Looking at roof, I'm thinking foreign. Not a very balanced design.

I've received mine and I'm completely satisfied. I'm sure that Mr. Haag is giving a lot of his free time to make them available to us, and I appreciate it. No one paid ahead of time, so what's to...

Re: water outlet problem.

I've broken ears torqueing with thick copper gaskets but never with no gasket. I file flat and use a thin film of Permatex.

Re: Model A Engine Installation

I always R & R the engine and transmission as a unit. One person, except a second person to shake things while lining up the u-joint.

I would enjoy having a roster of members in areas I travel. Shouldn't cost much. Or how about one I could print off. Or how about one in paperback form like a black and white magazine? Some of us...

Re: Buying a trailer need Model A Track Width Please

I use and recommend a 102" wide closed trailer. The extra 6" inside is noticeable.
Need to pay attention to your driving and wider mirrors.

Re: What color code of blue was used in 1911 on Fords?

If I remember correctly, I used an old Volvo color on an '11 touring in the early eighties. In my opinion it was just right. It got an AACA senior about three years ago. I believe I also used it on...
