Re: A few questions for salt flat vets
You won't be able to miss the 5000 RV's, tents, etc at the bend.
You can drive from the pits to the starting line(s), but not within the pits unless you have a pit pass. The pits area is quite...

Re: good place for clutch work
Thanks for the reply, it confirms my belief that the new "conversion" discs do not have any marcel and are the chief problem, along with the chinese pressure plates. I took mine out and used an Astro...

Re: Temperature gauge problems
Power should go to one side of the gauge and a single wire from the other side to the sender. Is that a voltage reducer in the pic or?
Also it's normal for the gauge to show hot with no power.

Re: late V8 valves
Thanks Ross, i think I get it now.
I went back and looked at my old valves...seems there were at least 3 different styles in there! Combined with the weak springs it's a wonder it ran as good as...

late V8 valves
Been shopping for rebuild parts for my late (year unknown) V8. I notice that 2 different valve part numbers are listed by some vendors (8ba-6505&1ba-6505).
Is this due to the use of valve rotators...

Can I use these lifters?
I'm beginning a rebuild on my 8ba type V8. I picked up these NOS lifters a few years ago and may want to use them. I believe they are for earlier V8's. Dimensions appear to be the same....
Aside...

I use epoxy primer if I can get to them. Mix up a little in a cup and brush it on with a small throw away brush

Re: T5 swap in 48-52 f1
Yes. I went back to an 11" clutch and used the Astro van disc. I used a OEM Ford pressure plate instead of the "new" chinese one. Now it is smooth as glass.....

Re: 49 Ford F2 flathead
I wouldn't think it would matter that much where it is as long as it has clearance on all sides down in the block. Main objective is to warm the coolant. We had on on the old H Farmall...
