I was cruising FleaBay and came across something called a " gas tank seat"
Guess it was for what??? Driving a chassis with no body? really?

I just got this out of long term storage, it fired right up with a little gas and battery charger, the battery has been holding the charge !!

Very nice Allen Special Shutter for Model A , like a Globe or Pines winterfront grill cover 30-31 i believe. Original condition, some paint flaked off, no real rust, no pitting. Has lever on top left...

Ahh...I had it on, just photo shopped it off so you all could see my face !

But really another posted about the dangers of pouring without that, I had no idea the gases could explode, I guess...

Finally got back to the B motor, well I did a few weeks ago and found the place that supposedly did the align boring didn't do it exactly as I expected. The crank locked up when I put it in. So off...

Update: Bolted the crank in, it locked up. Apparently I ought to hve gone tot he 1st class machine shop but thought it was a simple thing and could go local. That was wrong. I got it back today,...

Unfortunately they don't offer a stroker crank so it is stock. I think it is the pet project of one of the principals of SCAT. Tom Lieb is the guy you talk to over there is you want one of these.

BTw, my investmetn here is essentially pennies. The furnace is an old tempering kln I got at auction for 5 dollars, the red " green " sand is rather inexpensive if you goto lancaster Pa, the internet...

Well first casting was a fail. The seal was too far inboard. Today I made a new casting with more " meat" and I am sure it will work fine.

Do other people do stuff like this or just buy...

TOday I set to machining the good casting.

It was a little tricky as there are no true surfaces to measure/machine off. In hindsight i should have flycut one surface and worked off that but...

I have found there is a kit made for this. I'm going my own way, today I used the original holder to cast a " blank" I can machine to hold the sb Chevy seal. It came out well will post pix if there...
