Re: We lost a great one: Ron Davis

I lost one of my "extra" grandpa's. He was always so nice and was one of the only people besides my real grandpa who would let me drive his Model A's anytime I wanted. He was a true asset to our...

Re: 16 in wheel - tube needed?

Out of 6 of the 35 ford rims on my car, only 1 doesn't hold air and had to have a tube added & it's a spare (bias ply). The radials on the ground have had no problems holding air.

Re: Is it unusual for a Rex-A-Co water temp gauge to fail?

I went through 2 of these. 1 failed and one never registered the temp correctly. I bought one at tractor supply with actual numbers on it and it's worked great ever since.

Re: Electronic Ignition

We have FSI distributors in 3 cars and all 3 have performed flawlessly for thousands of miles. If set up correctly, you'll never regret the switch.

Re: New guy!

Same thing happened to me once. The pitman arm bolt stripped and just needed to be replaced. This is super easy to check and won't require removing the steering column. This bolt needs to be super...

Re: What is a cure/treatment for squeaky fan belt?

A simple squirt of wd-40 will do the job. I've used it before. Just spray it on the belt with the engine running.

Re: Scary Story: Model A, I-95 Daytona, Tuesday 20th

This is the reason my Model A is somewhat modified. When I inherited the car, it was bone stock. It would go 60 mph no problem, but I didn't feel comfortable holding it there for long periods of...

Re: "Right up your alley"

The controls operate the same as they would on a LHD car. Spark on the left, gas on the right. Retarded position for the spark is all the way up.

Re: Opinions on Tires

My BF Goodrich 550's had close to 13,000 miles on them when I took them off, and they still had probably another 7,000 miles before they wore out. They lasted WAY WAY WAY longer than any of the...

Re: White plastic 6 blade fan with v belt pulley

my guess would be to be able to see it spinning while it's running against the black radiator so not to get your hand caught in it.

Re: Don't Forget to Retard the Spark to Start

Mine use to do that. But it wasn't because of the spark advance. If there's a high spot on either brass button on the starter or the brass strip on the switch, it'll send too much energy through the...

Re: Article in the new Restorer

Just so everyone knows what his nephew is working with, this is the car he's restoring after another local guy was involved in an accident with this car. I've seen his nephews doing work on this car,...
