If I had 10 A400 doors, I wouldn't use one where it didn't belong. I am building this out of parts that were headed to the scrapyard after a nice trip thru the crusher. The doors I use will be junk...

With the wear on the fingers and the wear on the TO bearing and the area it's in on the brg. I think I would replace the TO brg. also, just to be safe. But, that's just me.

Longest doors???
Am trying to piece together a "phantom" (never made) body style out of discarded model A parts and am wondering which model A body style had the longest doors? 28-9 or 30-1 doesn't matter.

Have any of you flathead builders messed with intake runner length comparisons? Curious about what a basically stock engine with a couple 94s likes versus say L100 cam and a couple of 94s both...

Do it like JWL, Jack and 40 cpe say, mark accurate and measure accurate and you will have it. If you want to check it for true, dead nuts on, pull the head and use a dial indicator.

If gen is in good shape, use a 12 volt regulator and polarize. Takes care of charging circuit. If changing to neg grnd at same time, wire on amp meter will have to be switched if it reads backwards.

Your rear tire size (compared to stock size) will play a role in final gearing also.
But, I would think in high gear with 3:31 you might be a little under powered on hills etc.
