Re: rear pinion oil leak

I have also heard of using a thick grease to seal. Had a 9 inch that I replaced the pinion seal on and got some seepage when done. I had planned to try the grease trick but it stopped after a few...

I have done a ton of google searches but can't find what the value of the condenser should be for a 1966 4V 289 (non hipo) in a mustang. With condenser quality going downhill would like to know what...

Re: 50 F1 Door Lock Install Questions

The bracket is spot welded to the door. Could sand the paint off the outside skin around the lock hole to find the spot welds then drill them out and fix it on the bench and weld back in.

Need help to id door latch

I believe this is a driver side door latch for an open car. Has a lever for the lock. Chrome handle fits on a splined shaft. Not sure if it is Ford. Any ideas?

Re: Condensers

Some digital meters like my Fluke have the ability to measure capacitance. Can use a meter and then a heat gun to warm it up to see if it breaks down when warm.

Re: 50 F1 Door Lock Install Questions

It is a long allen set screw that goes into a threaded tube inside the access hole you see. One way to remove the lock without the key is to break off that tube to remove the lock cylinder. It may...

Re: Glove box radio

I have a working original 34 radio with original caps even and they do sound nice. We only have one am radio station worth listening to out here and it is an oldies format so it is perfect. I have a...

Re: 50 F-1 door glass, vent windows?

This company was posted on here a few days ago but I have never used them. https://www.sandersreproglass.com/ Looks like around $400 for all glass for an f1 cab. Flat glass is supposed to be the...

Re: Easy grind mig wire

I've used it quite a bit. You need to have two welds side by side and test grind each to see the difference. Easy grind is still metal and hard but grinds quicker than regular wire.

Re: Dash gauges don't work

Just wondering why go with a 5v regulator instead of 6v? Are the gauges accurate?

Re: Dash gauges don't work

No running an alternator. The collapsing magentic field of the coil in the starter solenoid induces a large spike on the power line that can kill electronics. If running the pertronics ignition or...

Re: Dash gauges don't work

I like the Runtz voltage regulators because they are small and bolt onto the back of the gauges. Just converted my 52 panel to 12v using flathead sending units on my 289 engine and the runtz...

Re: Road Test of Stant vs. Shewman Thermostats

Re: Park brake lever removal

I believe they are metal locknuts and can be tough to remove. I've had to grind them off one truck as the bolts broke off and could not get a drill in there.

Re: Need hinge screws

Same bolts used on f1 trucks and the oval philips head is an odd one that the typical hardware store will not carry. You may be able to find in stainless there but not in regular steel. Not sure...

Re: 35,36,37 pickup rear fender bolts

If they are like the 48-52 trucks they are held on by three small spot welds.
