Re: Vulcan 1 cylinder head
It was made in the 70's in the San Bernardino area. There was a Model A guy that owned a parts store there and he produced a few performance parts. I think his last name was James???
Most any...

Re: Donovan 4 Cylinder

Re: Synchronized Transmission
I'm not sure that others have actually answered your question. For my money the early Ford V8 trans is the best way to go. The '39 is the best, but the '32-'38 work very well too. The difference...

Re: Donovan 4 Cylinder
Donovan makes a flathead but most guys use an OHV head. The Model D (Donovan's name for the banger block) is super strong, and expensive but worth it if you are going to drive it hard. They are not...

Re: Speedometer Cable- A Grease Pump?
When greasing the cable, don't put grease in the upper 6". That area is straight so doesn't need it. Too much grease will get into the speedo itself, and cause problems.

Re: Lion Speed Head?
I think they sold new for $650? Piranio in TX bought raw castings from Yapp and machined his own chamber into them.

Woofa, unlike you, I am very up to date on electronic gadgets. I have a flip phone, and I turn it on when I leave the house, well, almost every time, which is maybe once a week? I can make and...

Re: Which Headers
4 into 1 tube header is the most efficient but at the RPM most guys run with their A's, it makes little difference. Cast iron headers or manifold retain heat and, I've found, make your car hotter...

Re: Rear End Rebuild Advice/Help Needed
Tom is exactly right, but I don't recommend torquing the side housings without gasket or shims of some kind in place, there is danger of distorting the housings, and they will leak.

Re: Holley 81 v8 60 carbs
Holley carbs, in general, need smaller than stock power valves when used in multiples. The reason is when in pairs, or more, the manifold vacuum drops quicker than as a single carb, so makes the...

The originals were drilled using hardwood as guides, so often were not concentric, as on my 1936 4-port.

Re: Riley ?
Riley 2-port, maybe $3500, if it is not cracked and is complete. 4-port, iron or aluminum, complete, $5,000 more or less depending on how much the buyer wants it.

Re: 31 coupe with a Rucker overhead valve
History lesson for today,
Rucker's were made when the Model A was new. They are somewhat rare now. They were similar to several OHV heads of the day, like the Cragar heads they could use stock...
