My '36 coupe runs an 8BA with cast iron truck manifolds. Not as "pretty" as headers but everything clears nicely.

Re: Adding Power Steering to a 49 Merc V8

I hope these pictures load!! The 1st shows the remote reservoir mounted on the firewall. The 2nd shows the electric pump behind the front wheel. The next step is to make a basic splash guard. The...

Re: Adding Power Steering to a 49 Merc V8

Re: help identifying this little part

It's the dash end of a typical choke or heater control cable as found in most older English cars. It should have an "outer cable" coming from the small end, and beneath the spring steel clip there...

Re: '35, need electric fan help

I may as well add my 2c worth. I'm running an 8BA in my '36. Radiator has original top & bottom tanks but a 5-row core. No fan on the engine, 160 deg thermostats with an extra 1/8 inch bleed hole....

Re: Need advice on a 4-barrel carb

I've been running an Edelbrock 500 on a basically stock 8BA for a couple of years & love it. Set it up using an exhaust gas analyser but basically drive on the primaries so not too thirsty!! Manual...

Re: 36 5W Coupe Steering box Slop

Re: What Value is Originality in a Driver?

Ross, this (obviously) is a rather contentious issue. Bottom line is "it's your car". Having said that, let me tell you about my '36. Body is standard & I would seriously discourage anyone from...
