Re: Election season never ends

If you look at Charles Lindbergh’s similar style travel trailer in the Henry Ford museum you will see it has an articulated tongue for pulling. The front of the trailer rests on two pneumatic tires...

Re: A Engine in a Movie

With the script on the side of the crankcase and lack of an oil fill- breather, that is a Model T engine.

Re: Upohlstry

I had one Cartouche kit. The roof fabric was cut short and one of the three panels would not touch the bow upon which it was to be tacked. The sides where the fabric joins the front bow were also...

Re: Cartouche gone, where to get upholstery

Does this shutdown apply to all of Cartouche? Is the early Ford (09-31) upholstery affected?

Re: 1928 Model A Multi disc clutch and flywheel

The U-shaped clips were not a repair item. They were introduced in late 1925 and mostly appear on the wider 26-7 transmission brake drums. A few examples of these lug shoes have appeared on short...

Re: TCP Global Epoxy Primer

I had similar issues with a new can of Summit epoxy primer. Wooden stirrers broke off when I tried to mix it. I ended up buying a pneumatic paint shaker to stir it.

Re: 28 Service Brakes

With the ‘28 system, the two shafts stay loose in the strap brackets that are mounted to the frame. This allows the brakes to equalize fore-aft as well as cross car.

The book, the Model A as...

Re: Title Jumping

In Michigan if the new owner is a relative as defined by the Secretary of State, no use tax is due and the title transfer is only the paper work fee. I can't see why anyone would jump the title if...

Re: '26 Runabout Colors

Colors other than black were not offered on the Runabout or Touring until later in 1926. The Model T encyclopedia states the colors were probably for the ‘27 Model year which was introduced in August

Re: No holes in Pan Gasket

This is a good strategy on the part of the gasket maker. Partial punching ensures there is no punch offal clogging their machines and less waste for them to dispose.

Re: Does anyone know this brace part number 28-29 roadster

I confess to all that I made a mistake. After driving over and examining my car, My 28 Sport Coupe does have the brace with a large hole. It was factory installed. So, is one brace for a Coupe and...

Re: Does anyone know this brace part number 28-29 roadster

You need A-162-A. The photos are interchanged. The brace shown as 30-31 is actually 28-29.

I contacted Snyder’s today and told them I believe the photos are mixed up. The brace we are...

Please look at the photo here:

I believe several suppliers have swapped photos for the correct part.

Re: Does anyone know this brace part number 28-29 roadster

I believe if you talk to the vendors they will ship you the one you show in your photo. I did a photo search of A-162-A and in some cases they have interchanged the photos for the two parts.

My...

Look at Snyder’s A-162-A. Other suppliers offer the same part.

I looked at a couple photos and the online catalog may show the later style with the large access hole when you click 28-9. Berts...

Re: Howell's Sheet metal

I bought the same panel for my touring from Smith and Jones. I used them because I assumed they did more business with Howell’s than I ever would. I got the panel in a few days and was happy.

Re: Early starter bendix

The Model T spring will work with the multi disc clutch flywheel. It is wound in the same direction as the Model A spring but is a smaller diameter. There is one installed on my later ‘28 Coupe.

Re: How to Distinguish Repro from Original Instrument Panels?

A history reminder. West Germany came into existence in 1945. Prior to that, parts would have been marked as being made in Germany.
