Not “Unobtainium” can use bolt on gear cam. Need long nose for 3bolt distributor or shortnose cam for 2 bolt distributor with an adapter button.
But who knows. The entire engine may be completely...

Not sure how you can get any correct answers without knowing answers to the questions asked.
I have never changed a Ford flathead press on gear in car...

More info on engine. Rebuilt when? How many miles? Use oil? Hard to start? Noisy? Fume out breather or exhaust. Etc.

Don’t shoot me just yet but I put Chevy pickup on if I’m modifying one. Much nicer traps oil better actual pickup tube is now down closer to bottom. 1/4” clearance is my number. Midget racers used...

Have you checked the combustion chamber total size with heads on engine? You may find they are close despite what you see on the bench.

Yes the 60hp transmission is completely different and very fragile. The is a 60hp commercial transmission that uses the big v8 gears but it is quite rare. Case is 60hp only.

I’m not home or I could send pecs but the adapter spacer needs to have an ID that centers the shaft adapter button. This is nothing new and been used for years on flatheads with different ignitions...

Instead of a machining a new shaft could you not use a button adapter like is used with a degree plate or when adapting a short nose cam to a 3 bolt distributor that originally used a long nose cam....
