Re: Model A valuation

I've looked thru all the non-dealer websites suggested and found all of one car that appears to be comparable, so not much to come to a conclusion.

I need someone to look at my 1931 Deluxe Coupe and give me a valuation.

I know what the "books" say; that's not what I need.

Looking for someone local to the Bridgeport, CT area that has some...

I got one and I've used it for all sorts of stuff from checking brake rotors to melting chocolate (yes, you really need to immerse a thermometer to properly measure the chocolate, but it gets me a...

Re: It ran when parked ..... at the bottom of the lake

Reminds me of the joke that came from one of the late, great comedians of yesteryear, like Rodney Dangerfield or Henny Youngman.

"My wife called and said the car won't start.
I said 'why not'....

Re: Cool License Plates

I have seen a set of three CT plates with the SAME number. I think that they were '28, 30 and '31'.

Re: Turn signal effectiveness?

I knew it was time to add turn signals when, while I was signaling for a left turn, I noticed that the woman behind me was looking to her left wondering what I was pointing to!

Re: Parade Car

The most fun I've EVER had in my car were the times I drove vets in the parade.

One year, we had three fellows who were buddies since childhood. They all signed up for the war together. There...

Bring along a friend who is a veteran and make up signs for the sides of the car with his name, service branch, rank and where he saw action. Google for images to find graphics of his service branch...

Re: Can I shut off the entire electrical with the key?

Yes, I plan to look at the drain and figure what the problem is, but that doesn't solve the problem of me leaving the turn signals or anything else on.

Not trying to permanently band-aid the...

Re: non detergent oil

It's interesting that he says the myth started because old cars that used non-detergent oil suffered ACTUAL damage SPECIFICALLY caused by using detergent oil.

That doesn't sound like a myth to...

Re: Can I shut off the entire electrical with the key?

That's what I keep forgetting to do.

I was thinking of making a switch to mount to the fuse block, which would at least make it easier than pulling the fuse.

I have a 6v alternator. Didn't...

Re: Can I shut off the entire electrical with the key?

If I had a manual shutoff, I'd probably be just as likely to forget to turn it off as I am to pulling the fuse. :-)

Yes, I realize that it's probably too much to go thru the switch.

Can I shut off the entire electrical with the key?

I have an electrical drain I need to track down (it might be the aftermarket turn signal I installed last year), so I have to remember to pull the fuse when I park.

Also, I keep leaving the turn...

Ratchet nut

My ratchet nut must be worn. The edges on it are not as sharp as a new one (I have a new one in my parts box). The crank slips out easily if I'm hand cranking it.

There's not much room in front...
