Alan, is your 41 truck a 1 ton, or? I talked to "ralph" at Joblot and he told me the rod ends for a 41 Ford 1 ton have a 3/4 inch shank. Back to the drawing board.

Ford tie rod end question
Guys,
I'm trying to identify the tie rod ends on my vintage racer. The rod ends look just like the regular 35-48 rod ends except these have 5/8-18rh thread on the 3 inch shank. The stud is I/2-20...

Has anyone heard of an aftermarket flathead fuel pump diaphragm that is tolerant to 100% methanol?:confused:

cleaning braided brake linings
I have a vintage race car with (a V-8 "60" engine, and) braided drum brake linings. I want to clean any oil/grease out of them. My vintage race buddy says they should be "soaked" to get the oil...

I've used composite gaskets on my V8-60 racer for 18 years w/ no problems. Install dry, retorque after 1 heat cycle and recheck after 2nd heat cycle. Good luck

My rail V8-60 & I were developed in the same year - 1940...& it was pass magnaflux tests better than I!!! btw 2011, take away 1940--my 2nd grade math tells me I'm 71.

I'm surprised that a "60" is bored .210 over! Wow... The sleeves require about a .083 bore, give or take. There are some good guys in the flathead world that have 60 pistons still in "semi"...

In case you figure it out, I am looking for a set of 4 .040 rod bearings for the '37-39 V8-60 engine. The normal ford prefix is 52- if this helps. Good luck.
