If there was a wire from the condenser center isolated terminal to the case this would short the condenser and the engine would not start!

34 original steering outer column

Did your car have the two small holes for a body plate attachment, if not the body was assembled by Ford and there would be no body plate.

If this car has been running a 11" clutch look in the front of the transmission bell housing for marks that the pressure plate may be hitting the casting.

There is no fuse in the starter motor circuit or the ignition circuit. None of the pre war cars from Ford had fuses in these areas.

I guess you must have mis-spoke in your posting #10...
