I think I found the problem, a leak at the intake, the gaskets were burnt through. Have just ordered copper gaskets.

I have a 31 AA completely rebuilt engine. Can't seem to get it to idle down.
Adjusting screw isn't touching. Took carburator apart to replace a broken shaft.

By all means replace it. We just had a young mechanic locally die from a fan blade that flew off and severed the artery in his neck. A very tragic death.

Stripped threads in adjusting wedge housing

Does anyone make the housing that the adjusting wedge screws into?
Mine have the threads stripped and would like to replace/ or repair/helicoil.

Had manifolds machined flat, installed, runs great. Now am able to adjust carb. Thanks again for everyone suggestions.

It looks like the ones that suggested it is the intake manifold leaking win.
A friend, that is a county fleet mechanic showed me a trick. Spray some ether around the intake. It showed up right...

I have an engine that seems like it isn't getting enough fuel. Installed rebuilt carb, same problem. Retorqued head, no difference.
Retorqued manifolds, some change but still not good. Checked...

RHD advance/retard control rods

I have a RHD Model, I am trying to find the control rod that controls the advance/retard from the bottom of the steering column to the pivot point on the manifold. Anyone have any idea. Thanks

As far as I can find on the frame it looks the number could be 789755. Does this correspond to what may have been assigned to England engine build numbers.
