Re: '33-'34 rear floor wire hoops

This doesn't help with David's question, but, like Steve, I made one. I used 'fence wire', sourced at Home Depot (I think). Pretty strong wire, and 'springy'. For fabric, I had done my top insert...

Re: 1947 Mercury Coupe

Are you asking for pics of just the brace? I have loose ones, if that is what you want. I don't have a pic of them in place, as installed.

Re: 34 ford sedan rear diff whishbones

If we weren't across a pond from each other, I would say, why not just take the pair that I have.... Are there any sources local to you?

Re: Stromberg 97 or Holley 94?

I'll be interested in what the experts say on this one. Tubman's info is good. If I had to choose between the 94 and 97, obviously choose the 94, if a load-a-matic is being used. But, original for a...

Re: Curious what this thing is

comeon Mart and Pete... Is there more to know, regarding that stylish & sign? I've not seen that previously... Is it an 'across the pond' thing?

Re: Motor mount spacers

I've got a pair of the 'repros'... The blue ones. The material is 3/8 x 1 3/4. The height is about 1.55. And the offset of the holes is about 1/2 (guess). As you can tell, they don't exactly match...

Re: For DavidG to evaluate...

Besides the pickups with the tractor engines, there are also other odd-balls like me that like Ford GPW's.... Which have a banger based on Jeep/Continental, and manufactured by Ford. And, I really...

Re: Available rear axle ratios in 1948 V8 car....

Again, for whatever it's worth, my 47 came with the 29 cluster already installed. (as well as the 3.54 already mentioned.)

Re: Available rear axle ratios in 1948 V8 car....

For whatever it's worth... My 47 (convert, heavy) came with 3.54. A buddy's 48 Merc (convert) came with 4.11. In my opinion, my 47 with 3.54 was a slug around town. I 'hotted up' the engine, then it...

Re: Broke an axle

I have both axles from a 33-34. Both used. I haven't looked at them in a very long time. If interested, let me know, and I'll look-see if I think they are any good.

Re: Various thread pitch’s needed

Heck of it is... on rear axles, and on steering columns, if the threads are REALLY messed up from hammering, then it's my opinion that a thread chaser does a little more damage, than good. So, what...

There ought to be an original Ford diagram posted 'somewhere'. I had (or have) the original Ford diagram (if I could find it?), and I know it got posted on BillB's site many years ago. I've run...

Re: V8 Times back issues available.

Like Lawson, I also have V8 Times... Mine from the early 80's to current. Also not interested in messing with them. Will eventually go to a recycle bin if someone doesn't claim them.

Re: Timing gear question

Like Ron says... it wouldn't go together if you mixed 8ba cam gear and 59 crank gear. Angle of teeth is reversed. As for cams being the same... not really, as 8ba has the distributor drive gear on...

I also used Street Rod Glass, in Riverside. He has most of the old patterns, and surely patterns for our Fords.

Re: A and V8 Driveshafts Different?
