May depend on the year, but fans changed in 42 (4 blade 16 inch) and again in 46 (4 blade 17 inch) Also a 6 blade was available. These fans were mounted higher for better cooling. A Ford service...

Chris B: Robert Shewman in Pa. makes a fuel line flex hose with a built in check valve which will solve the problem of drain back. I ordered one for one of my cars and it really makes a difference....

Good advice. No slop. This may not seem right, but to lower the hood, loosen the bolts on the hinge and raise the back of the hood. Then without letting the hood move tighten the bolts. Helps to have...

Oldskool: Also important to use a low temp. grease. Usually the cheapest tube at the parts store. I use Coastal, which has a melting point around 275. I get it at Auto Zone.. Hope this helps..,.Tom..
