I have several flathead heat sending units and would like to identify them for the years they originated. Any Barners know of a list that shows the matching numbers? Thanks.

40 vs 41 PU interior handles

I'm using 41 doors on the 40PU that I'm building. I notice that the books call for 41-47 interior door handles/cranks. Anyone know the difference from the original 40 PU? Thanks.

Re: Identifying 40 Ford PU Ornament

Thanks Alan. I looked, and sure enough the longer one with two holes is for the commercial. That means that those advertising their ornament as fitting both models are not being accurate with the...

Re: Yes, they are still out there!!!

A real beauty. Well, your life has peaked now. You've landed the big fish. Kind of sad. Maybe you would consider throwing it back?

Re: Replacement 6V horn

Factory designers didn't put the dual horns in as a focal point. Rather than detract, they added their small beauty as a final touch. A beautiful blue hardtop body is the focal point. The classic red...

1940 Ford PU Windows

I'm building a 1940 Ford pickup and often see door windows for sale with frames around them. I was under the assumption that the glass windows simply rolled up into the felt track. Do the pickup...

Re: 1940 horn relay

Had to eat my words. Just purchased an NOS one on ebay at a reasonable price. It is for an early 6v Ford. Nice to see that Made in the USA stamp.

Re: 1940 horn relay

I took the relay apart to look inside. The coil wire is very small gauge, but I believe most windings are fine wire. The only thing left is heavy connection terminals. The wiring going to it is same...

To fuse or not to fuse?

Building a 1940 pickup. I read an archive thread on wiring your classic and the person ended by saying that he always adds a 50 amp fuse from the wiring harness to the solenoid. But, when I checked...
