Tubman X 2. In years past, I had far better luck with Hurst shifters than other brands. The Hurst units were much better built than some of the others. The OD will be an issue, I'm sure.

TTT -Make me an offer. The Pittman arm will really reduce steering effort - the cheapest "power steering" you can buy! If not sold, parts will go to scrap. Gotta move 'em!

For sale - Professionally modified Model A pitman arm. Arm has been shortened and a new ball has been installed. Center of steering box shaft to center of ball distance is 5 1/2". $50 + Shipping....

I'd agree with replacing the pump gaskets. Be sure to get a good six point socket to attack the bolt inside the water passage. A lot better chance of getting it out rather than rounding it off!

I believe that JWL's book sheds some light on this oft-discussed subject. With that said, I have a couple of flatheads w/headers, Brockmans and 2" pipes. Love that sound!

Have never used silicon sealer but have used aluminum foil with good results. Make a small pad of aluminum foil, place it beside a flat on the bolt head and drive nut cover on with a rubber mallet....
