My January 1946 parts book and the Green Bible did not list it. After I read the responses from other members I got in the attic and dug out a May 1941 dated parts book and the 01A-8218A is listed in...

1940 Ford standard hood nose piece 01A-8218A

I have a NOS 1940 Ford standard hood nose piece 01A-8218A, with a 6-40 date cast in it. This part number does not exist in any original Ford parts book I have dated 1940 to 1949. For some reason this...

Re: 40 pickup

The 1940 pickup hood is different than the 1940 standard car, which accounts for the needed extra length of the pickup hood release.

I have a 1940 85 hp engine, all stock, with a 160 degree thermostat that runs 180 to 200 in summer driving. Took the intake off to adjust the valves and noticed the paint on the intake was cracked in...

Re: Long live the early Flat Top 6!

I have a 1941 Ford 6 cylinder truck and had the same situation a few years ago. I went to O'Reillys and they had a green colored belt that was an exact fit. I think the green belt was industrial or...

Re: 41 ford pickup question.

Matt, I just watched your video on the fender repair on your 1941. I work on my Fords by myself and your video was good for me to watch. Since you are in England with a 1941 American made Ford truck...

Re: 40 Ford power valve & jet solution for my car

The carburetor I just changed the power valve and jet size on was a rebuilt carburetor from Daytona Carburetor two years ago. Do not know why they put a 5.5 power valve in a single carburetor...

Re: 40 V8 compression change all cylinders same time

All compression checks I did were cold engine. Great deal of work to put all the engine back together to do a warm engine check not knowing if the problem was corrected.

Re: 40 V8 compression change all cylinders same time

Lot of good advise here. The 7 seconds of grinding is not all at one time. I did about 2 seconds and checked it. Still had dark spots of die. Did the grind again for about 2 seconds and still dark...

The intake and exhaust valve guides both had rubber seals on them. No exhaust valve guides were stuck in the engine.
