Lots of pictures - 1934 Model BB Dump

1934 1-1/2 ton Ford Dump, 40 years in dry storage I put four brand new 700-20 tires, tubes, and flaps ($1200) on it and fixed it up enough to drive, it is not "restored" or a hot rod. Body sheet...

Re: Big trucks?

Just listed my '34 BB dump truck on the swap page today, JM 35 I feel the "no time" thing as well. I'm not sure I'll be able to retire for another 20 years and can't let it sit that long. Needs to go...

Re: 1937 1 1/2 ton ford truck value

I know this is not the same truck but... I paid $3500. for my '34 as it had sat for 40 years in a shed - I didn't know if it would run. Luckily for me the '38 V8 in it ran awesome after new ignition...

Re: Recommended vendors for glass??

I used Vintage Glass in Tolland, CT for my 34 dump. He had the correct patterns as I had no glass and everything fit great. He can tell you if he has the patterns for your car.

Re: 34 P/U Radiator Cowl

I cut out a small rectangle around the mounting holes and tacked in a small piece of sheet metal to take its place. I probably could have done a better job finishing out with the grinder. It might...

1934 Model BB speedometer gear - will a '35 fit?

Took a the speedometer gear out of a junk chassis my brother had - it's a later year big truck, we think 1935. Many of the parts look to be the same as my '34 and was optimistic this would fit.

Re: Starter help

Never mind,me, just looked at your bio, looks like you have history on the car if it was in the family.

Thanks too for your service. I'll go to bed now and be quiet.

Re: Starter help

Ok here's another silly question. Are you sure you have a 6 volt starter (or a car that hasn't been previously converted to 12 volt?) I can't really see on my phone too well but was this someone's...

Re: Starter help

What happens when you put plugs in and take jumper cables directly from battery to starter?

Re: 32 Ford Truck Fender Fix

The Bondo sales guy likes the rest of us. Just jealousy talking. I wish I had that talent. Looks great.

Re: Fitchburg mass meet

I'm in, just don't stop quick in front of me. The brakes still aren't quite right.

Re: 1936 1.5 ton truck key and switch ?

For what its worth, I have a similar coil in my BB. The original one in the truck was at least 50 years old, would work well for about 5 minutes then break down. I replaced it with a NOS one that...

Re: Fitchburg mass meet

I'm on the fence about bringing my truck. If I can get a trailer I might. I don't know if a 50 mile trip should be the first trip beyond quick spins around town. Plus it looks like crap. Wouldn't...

Re: 1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor

If he wants a run of the mill old truck, just have him bring that one to a meet. Someone would surely trade a completed driver for it in a second.

And to think I thought original script parts...

Re: 32 Ford Dumptruck restoration

Jim,

Come take a look at mine and you'll be right back to not caring for big trucks.

From all of the nice big trucks I have seen on here, the more I don't care for them either.... they all...

Re: An Early Ford Truck Post... Let's see them.

32Dump, I wished my '34 BB Heil Dump looked that good. Also wish I was brave enough and had the four hours to kill crossing out and back across Route 133 at 30mph to have them meet up next summer.

I don't believe I said to paint the interior, but maybe you're just offering additional advise or ideas which is what I hope this forum is for.

Up here in the Northeast especially in the spring...

Re: oil detergant or non det.

I'm not sure the oil companies and their high dollar marketing campaigns are going to like that evaluation (although I agree). Seems like they all have a magic oil blend, and pictures to prove, that...

Re: want some ideas

This guy is looking for $14,500 for his (picts off his ad below) on Boston Craigslist. I wouldn't mind getting that for my '34 dump. Maybe they are worth more than I think.

Re: 34 BB seat rebuild

Post some picts when you finish. I need some inspiration for mine, especially to tackle the cab and interior this winter - if I can get mine off and in the garage.

My BB dump has a couple mid...

1934 Model BB rear brake drum/hub grease retainers

A squeaky wheel and those with no grease retainers get the grease. Apparently when the rear brakes were done about 40 years ago the rubber guts of the inner grease retainer (p/n BB-1175-C) was...
