Re: 37 Tudor to 40 Standard Tudor Body mount differences??

If you go to Wescott's catalog, they have the pictures of the frames for those years showing all the mounting positions. I think that they are all basically the same frames with minor exceptions. I...

Re: Stromber 97

That is good information. I had not thought about having them rebuilt. They were originally built by Charlie Price of Vintage Speed in Florida. I have left a message for Max to call me. I would...

Stromber 97

I have had it with carbs that leak and I'm thinking of either putting on a 4 bbl Holley or staying with the 97 theme by using the 9Super7 carb. What I would like to know is if there is any feedback...

Re: Upgrade to Electronic Ignition

I remember reading somewhere that if you go to a solid state ignition, it would be wise to go to an alternator rather than the generator. As I understand it, the generator puts out dirty electricity...

Re: Ignition- Electronic vs High Energy ????

I have been running electronic ignitions for about 20+ years and have had zero problems. However, I also went to an alternator at the suggestion of some friends and I have to assume it is the reason...

Re: Electric fan thermostat control.

I think what I would like to see available is a switch that would allow the fan to have a variable speed, depending on the temp. It doesn't have to run all the time at lower temperature, but It would...

Re: Sad Day This Weekend

That looks like the condition of my 36 Cabriolet when I hauled it home. I think it was used as a bulkhead in a stream in Illinois. My wife met me in the driveway and said, "You paid money for...

Re: Complete rebuild needed?

I would try talking to Hagen's in Puyallup, on River Road, as they do older engines all the time. There used to be a babbitt pouring shop up on First hill East of Seattle University by the name of A...

Re: Turn signal buzzer

I did the same as Mart. I got the flasher from Ron Francis Wire Works and was unhappy with the loud sound, but by wrapping tape around it a couple of times, it toned down enough to be bearable.

Re: Windshield Wiper Danger (?)

These old cars are like riding a motorcycle, dangerous if you are the least inattentive. I use seat belts and stay at least 3 seconds behind the car in front of me. I am also watching for anything...

Re: Is there an easy axle seal tool?

Re: aluminum heads - avoiding corrosion

Kube;
What would be the purpose of using a thin fiber washer between the head and each washer? If it is for the purpose of keeping water below the head nuts, then it allows the water to get up the...

Re: 51 merc

I had an 8BA in an old Ford and I used the 1950 bell housing adapter. Some are cast and some are stamped steel. It makes an easy adaption by changing the rear of the 49-50-51 Merc to the same as a...
