Re: Electric fan thermostat install

Right or Wrong. I have 2 elect fans with temp control sensors on my 39. First is in the pass side head that controls the top fan. The other replaces the driver side radiator drain valve to control...

Re: KC Area Barners?

Everyone might want the check the Shriner Swap Meet date/site. The Lathrop Mo fairgrounds were hit real hard a couple days ago by a tornado. Lots of damage.

Re: 1940 Ford Running Board Covers

I also used Drakes on my 39. I found wooded spring type clothespins to be a be great helper to keep the lower lip tight while the glue dried.

Henry, Thanks for the memories. Driven it up & down at least 3 times. First time in a class C-Motorhome, next in my 74 Bronco & most recently(2014) in our GMC truck. We always enjoy staying 2,3-4...

Re: 1939 Deluxe dashboard trim

As a last resort. You could make your own, by bending a paperclip into the near correct shape.

Re: Removing front windshield

I agree with Tom. Remove the frame from truck. The frame screws are a pain to get out. Some may even have to be drilled out, to split the frame.

Here's what I used on my 39, http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Hi-Tech-Deluxe-Turn-Signal-Module,7079.html Along with a double throw Toggle switch on the bottom lip of the dash. A little pricy but works...

Re: gas filler neck...

After looking at it again, I think it is lead soldered. A little flux, solder iron, & solder will fix you up as good as new. Lead is more flexible than either steel or brass for a joint like that.

Re: gas filler neck...

That doesn't look like brass braze. Looks more like gas weld with steel rod. First thing I'd try, clean it up good and solder the crack shut.

If I remember correctly, there's a T-nut on the backside of the floorboard.

Re: '40 Std coupe seat

Here's a picture of my frame, yours may be different. Bolts go thru from the inside of seats' metal frame into t-nuts on wooden sides.

Re: '40 Std coupe seat

That seat looks, something, like my 39. The side panels are connected to the bottom of the frame with bolts on each side. The side panels have t-nuts. Look on the inside of the seat frames to find...

Re: 38 temp gauge

I wasn't in a hurry, but I just hung mine on the wall in the shop. It return to normal after a while and has worked good. I've read that some will spin it. Not me.

Re: Recover '40 Sedan Running Boards

When I did mine. Believe it or not, I found that the spring type clothes pins worked along the outer bottom lip, to help bond the edge.

Re: Non-Tittled in Missouri

MO DWV web was no help. The first thing I told him was to call the local DMV office. I thought that someone from Missouri may have been thru the process.

Non-Tittled in Missouri

I have a friend, here in Missouri, that's looking at a 33 truck. It's a barn/field find, without a tittle. What are the red tape hoops that can be expected in Missouri?

There are two braces per fender. The 'long' ones you have aft of the tire & the short ones that go between the inner fender and the front cross member behind the radiator.
Try to find original ones...

Re: Single post lift Good~ Bad ~ or ~ indifferent

Re: speedometer lighting

On my 39, I used some rubber type bulb holders that fit into side markers of newer vehicles. They fit into the retainers good and snug. It's not original but I'm running 12v. anyway and it works. I...
