Just use small block chevy rod nuts they work fine many on the barn have used them.There is no difference in how you use them and don't require anything else just install and torque them,45/50 ft lbs...

Post a picture of the hole as tig welding may be out of the question. That welding option is easier said than done especially in the car. By the sounds of it the hole size needs to be determined....

Is this a 3 ring piston? 32 to 45 with an aluminum ford 3 ring piston 85 90 hp. 121 Hastings


Also a 3 ring piston steel and a alum replacement piston 85 90 hp 122 Hastings set .

You can also use green retaining compound an lock them in. Install bronze guides before you install them. That requires some bronze tooling but works good.
