I think we are on the same page, the hole on head the distributor slides into, there is a large bore than a smaller one that the shaft spins in, just wanted to clean it out, the wire brush would do...

only early 28s had the red steering wheels, later ones did not. Early ones had a different parking brake as well, opposite side I believe.
