This is the true answer. You can estimate draw and load, but at the end of the day a shorted (grounded) wire will carry the supply load at a max load since the ground can handle it.

Don't forget to add the fender mounting carriage bolts to the filler strip before you rivet them to the bed. They don't fit once it's on, so which would require use of the undersized bolt.
