Re: Over Drive Transmission bushing

The trick is getting the old one out. There are tools for this and I have used them successfully. They are a three flat hooked affair using a slide hammer type puller. If your tail shaft housing has...

Re: '39 wire control dash knobs ??

Kube, could you give a brief description of what/how you did this. I've had this situation come along on several old car and truck resurrections . Tim

Re: Front Axle 1939 Ford pickup

To my way of thinking, if the axle was on backwards the problem would be the same turning either way not just right. Therefor its something else. Have you checked to see if the camber is the same?...

Re: Front Axle 1939 Ford pickup

Thinking geometrically after seeing the video it would appear your steering arms do not match . I would take a measurement from the lower center of the kingpin the the center of the tie rod stud and...

Re: Voltage regulator, generator wiring (12 volt)

I can't say it's factory but I have always ran 10 gage. Most of those regulators have a ground screw in the side of the base but the cover screw would work in a pinch.

Re: Oil filter emergency bypass

I understand your concern but have never had an issue with mine unless I didn't get the gasket in right. Once it's sealed it's a done deal until you open it again. What type of a canister do you...

Re: Electric Windshield Wiper Motor Needed

Steve, if your vacuum wipers are rebuilt correctly they should not even need to be turned up to full or they would beat themselves to death. Check you system something is amiss. You should have thick...

Re: Voltage regulator, generator wiring (12 volt)

I don't know the regulator you are referring to but when I have done this in the past I used the 1956 ford regulator . It is a bolt on for earlier fords. Tim

Re: spring

Hi Tom, I had an old friend who was a wrench back in the 40s . He added a shim to the spring in my 36 dodge because after the complete rebuild I still had low oil pressure. If I remember right it was...

Re: 1939 pickup engine oil filter

As long as the filter seals around the tube and has some clearance on the outer wall of the canister it should be fine . there are slight differences between brands. As for the ruber washer, I've...

Re: (Best) copper head gasket and offenhauser aluminum heads

Yup, what aussei said. The smaller holes should be at the front. This forces the water to flow evenly through the whole engine. Other wise it would just take the path of least resistance, in through...

Re: '40 brake lamp switch / master cylinder issue?

I with you Mart. I hate to crossbreed stuff as some of you know, but the mechanical switch that GM used on all the old five window (47 - 54) pickups works very well on my 41 pickup under the floor...
