Well I JUST looked at my trans and it is definatly an MX So if all goes well, everything should just bolt in.

I have a 390 I just got all my parts for, so I will be getting ready for the swap soon...

I have a 57 Fairlane with the y block 292. I went ahead and purchased a 68 Galaxie 500 pulled the engine...

Going on the GPS route, I had heard a poor mans lo-jack is a pre paid cell phone wired in somewhere hidden. Phone you buy must have gps capabilities though. Thought that was a good idea

I dont know. I have an Ignitor or Ignitor II. I know its not the III. Two years on my old 292 with Ballast resistor and an AutoZone coil. Not ONE problem. I plan on putting it in my new 292

those are good ideas, thanks! As far as removing the old road draft tube, is there a block off plate there or do I find some stock and make one? And the valley cover, is it easier finding a valley...

I personally think it is because type A is an obsolete fluid. Meaning GM and Ford both used type A back in the day and over the years have each made their own type per their own recommendations. So...
