Re: 1931 Tudor Phaeton
Wish I was closer, I would have to take a look if you didn't get it! I love the look of a phaeton.

Re: Shortened pitman arm
Marshall, I agree, comments on this subject have been very respectful. I made the mistake of asking what type of oil to use in the engine back in the winter. That caused quite a discussion!

Re: Starter issues
It sounds like you may have a bigger issue causing the welding. Sounds like your starter is pulling too much current and causing the problem. Is your engine freshly rebuilt possibly causing the...

Re: Idle Mixture Screw
Back in 73 my dad bought a new Datsun pickup. After he had it for about a month it wasn't as peppy as it had been so he took it back to the dealer. The salesman took a ride with him and told him he...

Re: Cast fuel bowl leaking- round two
I had an issue a couple of months ago with what I thought was the fuel bowl on the firewall leaking. I finally figured out that the 40yo line to the carburetor was what was leaking. Put a new one on...

Re: Shortened pitman arm
My dad installed one on his 28 and when I rebuilt the steering box on my 30 I put one on. Huge difference! I highly recommend them!

Re: 1931 Model A not turning over
Sounds like the starter switch could be bad. You could pull it off and touch the batter cable to the post on the starter and see what happens. If it turns over then the switch is bad.

Re: Dropping the oil pan
I don't have a lift in my garage so 1 thing that helped me was using ramps to drive on. I pulled up on the front 2 and then jacked the rear up and put 2 back there. That raised the car enough where I...

Re: sign of the times
Back in the mid 70's my dad and I restored a AA truck. That was the first vehicle I learned to drive. From there I went up to a 53 International pickup with 3 on the tree.

Re: New Coupe
order it now - the wait time is very long since there is only 1 supplier now.
Who is the supplier? I'm just starting in on a sedan. Thanks,

Re: Idle Mixture Screw
Start off by putting a 1/8 pipe plug in the vacuum port on the intake. If your car runs better then you know where to look for a vacuum leak. I use a manual vacuum pump to test the wiper and lines....

Re: Pumping gas
Lol, mine too! There was a huge swimming resort about 5 miles from my station. There was always someone in a bikini stopping by for gas or directions. I'm starting to see why I liked that job.....

Re: Pumping gas
Not sure but I worked in a full service gas station in the late 70's as a teen. It had self serve on 1 side and full service out front. Kept me busy but it was fun! A few years after I left it was...

Re: sign of the times
I raised 6 kids and made them all learn to drive a manual. The only 1 that could not master it was my left hander. I could understand that because I'm not sure I would be that good with a RHD car!...
