Re: Temperature gage for 1934 Flathead V8

Originally there was a fitting placed in the upper radiator hose . But if you’re not worried about what’s correct then use the later pump with the port for the temp gauge.

I bought these LED 6 volt bulbs off Amazon. Have them in the parking lights of my 40. Plenty bright and small.

What oil pump do you have in there ? With the engines with a slinger at the rear I like a stock pump and a rather tight clearance on the rear main crankshaft journal.

Remove the drivers side axle housing and the passenger side hub and drum along with the key and the whole unit with the differential , ring gear and axels will slide out.

Keep in mind that armature threads are a little different than regular threads. I have a set of special armature dies.

So, to go the other way using the Mercury bell housing I can use the truck starter plate and use the seal . I have both starter plates but only have a Mercury bell housing.

I have it written down with other notes and bearing and pinion seal number from when I rebuilt my 39 Zephyr rear axle. . I’m away from the shop now but maybe later this afternoon.

If you block off the passenger side points the driver side should be set at 22 1/2 degrees dwell. Then remove the block and set the passenger side to obtain 36 degrees total.
