Re: Overvoltage
Maybe its not your regulator at all and the generator is not making enough volts. No use just guessing and swapping parts. To test the gen just remove the field wire from its reg terminal and connect...

Re: 12 volt Optima red top group 25 in a 36 coupe

Re: Led Bulbs
Yes I have used them in my 34 Ford 6volt system. The dash and park lamps are good. But the headlamps throw the light around all over the place and are very bright, but are rather voltage sensitive....

Re: Ford Rear Brake Drum repair
You should also have a close inspection of the female taper inside the hub to make sure it is not worn. It must fit the axle taper precisely. Also measure across the drum braking surface to make...

Re: Starter Locking Up
This sort of symptom can happen if your battery is weak and only able to rotate the starter enough to engage the ring gear but not enough power to rotate or crank the engine. Have your battery LOAD...

Re: 6V vs 12V Starter Solenoid
The voltage coil inside a 6 volt solenoid is designed to operate on 6 volts but will operate on 12 volts but will draw twice the current (amps) which is not good. This could eventually be the demise...
