Re: 56 TBird
Maybe one day I'll sell my ElCamino and get a baby bird, now that prices have moderated on them. Who knows.

Re: Rear Diff Plug HELP
Wire brush, and penetrating oil sprayed liberally on it 3 x day for at least a week first. If you own a Model-A now you need patience!
And I do not mean WD-40!

Re: TRB Overdrive?
Wow, look at that. When I hear stories like that I wonder what happened? I also wonder what happened to the design? If there were issues, etc....? I mean what if Terry Burtz simply gave up...

Re: Adjusting timing
Thank you Y-Blockhead. I am happy to accept your thoughts. Sometimes technical data is good, some times it just confuses the issue.
BTW, my crankshaft is counterweighted and balanced. Plus...

How do you like that balancer, and belt? I have a pressurized center main, the whole nine-yards has been balanced all the way back to the pressure plate. Do you think it will make your engine live...

Re: rod nuts...why the odd size?
My A had a little less than 50,000 miles on it when it got it's engine rebuild. All indications were that it was it's first. I had to go buy a 4-point socket. I think I still have it in my toolbox.

Re: model a engine
I was burned by a bad rebuild once. Machining was incorrect... no fixing that!

Re: Power Loss After Carb Rebuild
Yes, and they bend easily just from use. My car is a 28 (March) and the thing is of somewhat a different design. I finally had got tired of taking mine off to straighten it each year, and put on...

Re: Idle Mixture Screw
Ok, 1) idle it down if you can. 2) set the air fuel mix screw to 1/1/2 turn off it's seat (be gentle) 3) open you GAV 1/8 to 1/4. 4) use your wiper ports as a full vacuum port for your vacuum...

Re: Car Will Not Pull Under Load
I have seen that happen, but when I have seen it the points did not open far enough to give the coil time to charge and colapse.

Re: Power Loss After Carb Rebuild
And tap on the carb a bit. Sometimes that needle-n-seat /float tends to hang a bit when the carb is upside down, and such. However, it seems like you are on the right track.

Re: Ford Tool Identification
I have quite a few of those pictured, and then some. I assume that only one crank/lug wrench depending on year and month built.
Interesting. There used to be a guy older than me over around...
