The best 4 barrel for a flathead is a 55 Buick WCFB. They have the small pattern base and have the velocity valves in the seconadries. They were originally recommended by a very knowledgeable...

I have a Maverick in my car. It has the 1 in adapters. The total width is 58 in. The wheels fit over the drums. you would need the 3/16 rings to fit in the wheels for support

The brass tube is for use with a horn rod. You can add a bracket and retain the switch at the box. The steel tube is for use with the wire setup.
The brass one is very sought after.

Excellent 46-48 front hubs drums.
I fine pair of original drums. The diameters are only over size .020 They still have paint from decades ago. Studs, bearings are all fine. Pictures later.
