Re: I inherited a true to original restoration 1935 Ford Deluxe. Help me out here.

It is normal for some flatheads to have low oil pressure at idle. What pressure does it have at higher rpms once it warms up. I would not remove the filter housing, just get a filter and put in it....

Re: Rear spring shackle bushing intallation???

All above will work. I drive the innerds out and use a hacksaw aimed at the solid part of the spring hanger then a small sharp chisel to drive the shell out. Then take the new bushing and chuck in...

Re: 1933 V8: Troubleshooting...suggestions welcome

Are you saying the engine will not pro0duce full RPM? If it runs smooth up to a point and will not go further, its going to be a minor problem. If that is the case, remove the throttle rod and...

Re: Transmission Question

Pull the emergency brake lever back to where you feel it ride over the clutch release ramp. Stop there, no further and that will put it in neutral as much as possible.

Re: Timing gear sheared 12 teeth

I would never ever use a fiber timing gear. Your biggest problem is cleaning the mess out so that none is left to mess up the oil. You can read in many of the repair manuals how to remove the old...

If the system is right, a regular 6v battery works just fine. I have them in all my stuff starting from 1926 thru 34.

Re: 1937 Cad/LaSalle Trans

Re: Adjustable Lifters

Most important is that if you are using a reground cam, you must have the thick headed lifters or the head will have to be unscrewed out too far to stay adjusted. I have several engines with lifters...

Re: What is the best head gasket for Alum heads

I use steel gaskets on my 4cyl and 8s with very good success. Prep is important and a good coating of copper coat sealer on both sides of the gasket is IMO a must as well as at least two retorques. ...
