Re: Door alignment problem on 29 CCPU

Now boys, all a jig does is speed-up the assembly process. Think about this, ...the first one had to be assembled without a jig, -and therefore we generally don't use a jig. Matter of fact, we...

Re: Tools/supplies needed while traveling

The irony of that is there are still plenty of "independents" (-fellow Model-A owners) wherever you travel that will have parts that will most likely get you going again.

Re: How to start a '28 Ford Model "A" the "Old-Time Way"

While I am not a proponent of using two hands, I do think it is worth mentioning that everyone should take note of this "Cranker's" hand position. If the engine were to 'kick', it should be able to...

Re: Tools/supplies needed while traveling

Paul, about a warped Tillotson, -I guess my thoughts are that surely the engine ran well enough to make part of the tour, ...so 'bandaid' the Tillotson enough to finish the tour or tell the owner to...

Re: Door alignment problem on 29 CCPU

Re: Door alignment problem on 29 CCPU

Rusty, have you measured diagonally to see if the door opening is square with the door? I am assuming the belt moulding aligns correctly. My notes show the opening from cowl jamb to the rear panel...

Re: Tools/supplies needed while traveling

You know, something hit me about this thread regarding this topic, -and I wish my Dad were still around to answer some questions, but as I recall from way back in the 1960s, there were cars that were...

Re: Gear Drive Starter Question

Dan, we have a 12v one on our Run-in stand, -and that is the biggest thing I don't like about those starter. You almost need to install one of those starters when the engine or trans is out.

I...

Re: Front brake shoes grab

If you are referring to the Front Backing Plate Bolts, then actually it is the hole in the middle of the Brake Housing (Backing) Plate that pilots using the Spindle's flange to hold the Plate firmly...

Re: Front brake shoes grab

Keith, bending tracks is very hard to do even using a torch, AND is a bandaid for something else that is incorrect.

The Brake Centering tool is basically a check gauge to tell you something is...

Re: Another carb needs repair

You know, I watched this about 30 minutes after you had uploaded it this morning, and I really fought the urge to jump to the end to see if it actually worked, ...but I watched it thru to the end. ...

Well, there is ...but you probably won't like the price of it. Search for 'Tonka Rivet Tool' and you will see what comes up.

The issue generally is unless the rivet is set uniformly around the...

Re: cam lube

Neil, when a pointed lobe is wiped across a compressed face, it probably won't squeeze it out but it will definitely scrape it off.

Re: Lacquer Paint fix?

There is nothing that can salvage the cracked Lacquer paint. Just compound it by hand and wax it to make it less noticable.
