Can those plates bearings and all be bought new ? If so where can I get them , NAPA , Ford parts stores ect, ? I'm sure the ones I have will be junk buy the time I get them out .

-----That is what it looks like and I am using some penetrating oil around it . How does the vacuum advance work if that plate won't move it's pined to ? It sure looks different than the later years...

I want to thank ' Scicala ' and ' Paul2748' for their help on identifying my distributor . Now I could use a little more help . I want to remove the cover plate the points and condenser are mounted...

Okay , It looked about like a Y-Block one so I thought it was . I do have one from a later FE 360 but I thought it looked shorter so I guess I better take another look at it .

Left front on the 12 or more 302s and 289s i have owned. Sometimes left front, sometimes between the carb and dist. Then there is one behind the thermostat housing on the engine side , not radiator...

I drilled mine out on a 289 , very careful so i would no oversize it. Then just installed another new one . It fit's a little loose but stays in and works good .

FEs were used from the mid 60s to the mid 70s in ford pickups , there should be a lot of brackets around still and more probably in the cars.

Sounds like a baffle that has broken loose . Any fuel tanks i have opened up accept farmer home made ones have baffles ,helps keep the fuel from splashing around.
