The first one looks like a door closer linkage part- the mechanism on top of a door to make it close softly.

You could cut a piece of the prism area from an old tail lamp lens and put it behind the clear lens, or use a red LED lamp with your clear lens.

Here is one I made using a clipboard spring. It's "rustic" to match my T and oilcan. It bolts into an existing hole on the firewall and rests against the hood seal lip.
